You don’t have it all figured out. Think of the flowers of the fields. They have no idea or concept of tomorrow and yet still, they grow. They still bloom exactly how they were meant to. Through the sun and the rain they change. They spring forth in due season, even though they do not know the reason. I hope you know that this is true for you. I hope you know that every single day, whether you know it’s purpose or not is a part of what makes you bloom. MHN PD: Nicky is laying down on a red beanbag and grey pillow outside. He is wearing a stripped blue, white, and black shirt and is smiling.

teamwork tuesday: how often do we try and do things on our own only to realize we need each other to our very core? while fostering independence is a huge part of our mission, we also recognize and emphasize the importance of being there for each other; we are responsible to others and for ourselves, learning to help carry each other’s burdens while carrying our own load. M I K A Y L A Dear friends, we are so thankful that a new sweet friend has joined Courage Purple Home! ”Since two beautiful girls from our floor joined their forever families this summer, we have been praying about extending our reach, filling empty cribs, welcoming new snuggle buggas into our home and open arms. Two weeks ago, we were so thrilled to receive the news from our incredible social worker, Lalitha, that Mikayla was approved to come to SCH. She’s been at SCH for over two weeks now and each day has been filled with absolute blessings. Since coming, Mikayla has shown us so much of her personality, abilities, and preferences. She loves bounces and tickles and music. When she wants to, Mikayla will make kissy noises or she will babble in response or to mimic words she hears—sometimes even approximating her name and or words like “clap” and “kick”. She loves going for walks, and she is happiest in the sunshine. Mikayla has been sitting up in chairs for about 45 minutes, happily and sporadically playing with musical instruments. She has also discovered that standing up with support is one of the silliest things a human could do, perhaps ever. We are so excited for Mikayla to have joined our home, and we are praying for and anticipating great things for her life.” words shared from one of Mikayla’s Home Advocate Volunteer PD: Mikayla is cuddled up close in the lap of a caregiver in her home, their heads resting on one another.
J A M I L A U P D A T E: After 12 nights in the hospital Jamila was able to come home and sleep in her own bed welcomed by the familiar faces of her home. We praise God for this! Yesterday she started experiencing seizures and is back at the hospital for another night. While this is not the path we hoped for, it is scheduled for her to be able to leave tomorrow to once again be welcomed home. The path may never look the way we want it to but no matter where it leads, we are thankful to be able to fight alongside her and welcome her home any chance we get. Once again we are so incredibly T H A N K F U L for our community of support lifting up Jamila. We reach out once more and ask for prayer for continued healing. We also ask for your help in covering her hospital bill. Please consider helping us clear this bill by clicking the link in our bio! J A M I L A U P D A T E As you know, Jamila has been in the PICU for 5 full days. When she was admitted her body was full of infection which affected her lungs, heart, kidneys, liver, and bone marrow. Her medical team has been working tirelessly to help her body fight and overcome this battle. As of today her kidneys are fully functioning and she is off of the ventilator! The goal right now is to clear up the infection in her lungs and fill her up with good nutrition. She responded during our visits by opening her eyes and nodding her head when we asked if she was ready to come home. T H A N K Y O U, from the bottom of our hearts, for being a community that comes together in prayer and support, no matter how near or far in the world we are. As Jamila continues to fight for her life, we must now look towards the ever increasing hospital bill. We are blessed to have a hospital and doctors who take such good care of our kids and it’s important that we keep that relationship by making payments. We estimate that her hospital bill will be approximately $9,000. Please consider helping us by donating towards Jamila’s hospital bill. For a tax deductible donation, click link in bio! I cannot tell you what will make you feel like you have a place to belong to, but I can tell you that you belong in this very day. I can tell you that as sure as the sun was meant to rise in the morning sky, so were you. As sure as the trees were meant to spring up from the ground, so were you. No matter the depths of your deepest unknowns, this place is a home and you are free to be alive here; you are free to give, to laugh, to love, and to dream. You are free to be who it is that you have been called to be. -MHN PD: two hands in focus extended towards one another, one reaching out to the other and the other being held. P R A I S E for A D O P T I O N! We are over-the-moon thrilled to announce that sweet Josie has been adopted! Josie originally came to SCH in 2015, from a government home following a life saving surgery. Josie's time here was filled with complications from surgery and time with our team of specialists to help ensure she didn't just survive, but thrived. We have watched her grow and develop physically and emotionally in leaps and bounds! We have come to know and love her as a happy and healthy little girl! Josie spent the majority of her time at SCH in Anchor Home. She was known as a little sister and friend full of giggles and belly laughs, silly antics, funny games, and all the snuggles. She loved the other children so well, she would sing to herself as she crawled about the house, follow her ayah around and tell her all the things she wanted; mainly demanding biscuits and chai. She was affectionately known as the ruler of the home. While we are so incredibly thankful and honored to know and love her, we are overcome with JOY that she has a forever home and forever family. We are praising God that she no longer waits and is surrounded by lasting and powerful relationships. Please join us in praying over Josie and her family as they transition home into life as a family. Prayers for the hard and difficult changes and that these would be met with love and understanding. Praise for loving relationships and provision; praise for adoption! PD:Josie is standing on the balcony holding onto the railing and looking back at the camera over her shoulder. She is wearing a white top with pink flowers on it, her face illuminated by the sun, and she is smiling her sweet smile!
